Tax-Time

You can prepare and file your federal return online for free with I-CAN E-File!

Free forms and booklets: Most Pierce County Libraries carry some of the most commonly used tax forms from the IRS. You can pick up these forms while supplies last, through April 15.

• 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ forms and their instruction booklets
• Schedules A, B, C, D
• A small number of other common forms and publications

Note: W-2, 1099 or other multi-part or machine-readable employer forms are available at at office supply stores or from the IRS at 800-829-3676.

Forms and instructions for copying (10 cents per page): You can copy this year's IRS forms and their instruction pages from binders in most Pierce County Libraries. Please see a library staff member if you need IRS forms from past tax seasons.

Online forms and instructions for printing (10 cents per page): You can print IRS forms and their instruction pages from the IRS website on a printer at your library.

Out-of-state income tax forms: Many states provide state tax forms online for printing. See Federation of Tax Administrators - State Tax Forms Links for links to all the states.

• Specially IRS-trained volunteers help prepare and e-file personal tax returns, especially for seniors and those with limited income.
• Sessions are offered on a first come, first served basis, with no reservations accepted.
• Many people use this service, so arrive early and allow plenty of time.
• Please come with all necessary paperwork. See list of suggested items to bring.
